OEDIPUS THE KING
by Sophocles and translated by Bryan Doerries
"You may see the light now, but you will soon be pitched into utter darkness." ~ Tiresias
A plague ravages the Greek city of Thebes. The citizens turn to their King for help and guidance. As Oedipus begins to unravel the mystery that engulfs the land, it becomes clear there is a high cost for getting to the truth; a truth that will lead to severe consequences and unexpected outcomes.
